Cottage ♦ 128 McDowell Lane, Horton ♦
Hi Vince, I’m throwing up this page so you get an idea of the cottage and it’s setting. Photos are random ones I have, I haven’t been there since 2018 so I don’t know what’s what right now inside. It’s been used by my family and they don’t always let me know what’s going on there. I think there’s going to be a major cleanup required by me to get it into selling shape. So that’s what I’ll be doing as soon as I’m back there.

Land Details
- Originally one piece of 16 acres. One acre sold to my aunt and uncle.
- Leftover parcel subdivided into 2 parcels: my sister has one and I have the other. But from what I see on plans seems we each have 4.62 acres, which is confusing to me if the initial parcel was 16 acres.
- Hydro poles into both cottages across my land I believe.
- Well: Shared well. I thought it was on my sister’s property but not sure after looking at plans. Dad said well is on my sister’s property.
- Driveway into cottage: Shared. Dad said was on my property, but seems it may be a bit on my sister’s property at the beginning.
- Circular driveway at cottage with lots of parking area.
- I believe that an additional cottage may be built legally, but buyer would have to check with Horton to confirm.
Why Mushroom and Chipmunk Photos
I’m a mushroom forager and the orange mushrooms are called lobster mushrooms. Very desirable and delicious. Other edible mushrooms include Chicken of the Woods. The two together are so good! I know mushrooms and foraging are becoming mainstream here, don’t know about there, but these are a find. I had found 2 lobsters in BC that weren’t done in by bugs and at the cottage in 2015, after a summer rainfall, I counted over 70! 42 were perfect. So I was in heaven. And the chipmunks – just adorable and so very friendly.
